During my sophomore year of college I became a starter and went on to start 29 games. After graduating from Michigan , the Detroit Lions signed me as a free agent.

Football and the life style that came with it became a major part of my life. The fame, popularity, power, money and glamor that football provided looked to bring me the happiness I was searching for.

I was looking for happiness in all the wrong places.  Then I allowed God to grab a hold of my life.  I realized that “true happiness” and “fulfillment” only came through Jesus Christ.

When I confessed my sins to God, asked for forgiveness, and accepted Jesus as my Savior my life changed forever.  2 Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

It took me a long time to realize these truths and that God had great things in store for my life.   God has great things in store for your life too!  I encourage you to surrender today! What's holding you back? You won't regret it.

If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." Romans 10:9-11
